Open Question: why cant I get the child support that is owed to me?

My sons father hasn't payed in 6 months and now owes 5,000 dollars.I feel like child support enforcement is a joke in new hanover county! I called about a month ago and told them all his info...job,phone number,address etc...nothing?? Christmas is creeping up and I'm scared he will never have to pay again at this rate!!
